Saavn releases latest music app for iPhone and iPad

Saavn, an India music streaming service, has unveiled the latest Saavn Music for iPhone and iPad (version 3.0).

The new app brings easy access to songs in 11 Indian languages. Users also get direct entry to Saavn Radio.

The update includes full-screen album art in the Saavn player, and, for the first time, delivers a unique iPad user interface, maximizing screen real estate and usability for iPad Users, the company said.

Since the launch of the new app, daily streams on Saavn Music for iOS have increased by 20 percent overall, while streams in newly-surfaced languages like Tamil and Kannada have surged by about 50 percent, the company said.


Saavn Radio streams have grown by 7.5 times, and daily unique users on Saavn have increased by 10 percent.

Saavn is planning to release Saavn 3.0 for Android at the end of the month.

“We will continue to push the limits to deliver great products that users love. There is more in app innovation coming over the next few months,” Malhotra added.
