Opera unveils Opera Coast web browser for iPhone

Opera Software has launched the Opera Coast web browser for iPhone, which the company describes as the first true made-for-touch mobile browser.

The new app is a scaled-down version of the PC browser and is designed to fit a mobile screen. Every pixel and every image placement has been re-thought to make sure it not only fits, but also makes perfect sense for the iPhone, Opera said.

The iPhone was made for having all screen real estate within a thumb’s reach, and Opera Coast takes this idea one step further, the company said. It takes care of all the navigation needs, with the rest handled by two conveniently placed buttons.

Opera Coast has an improved search feature that gives website suggestions as you type in your search words. As you enter an internet address, suggestions for possible sites matching what you’ve entered pop up.

Opera Coast is available for iPad, as well as the iPhone. The automatic iCloud sync feature allows users to sync content from one device to the other.
