OPPO introduces VOOC mini charger

OPPO has introduced a VOOC mini charger for its R5 smartphone. The charger is capable of charging the phone’s battery from zero to 75% in only 30 minutes, which can also be used with accessories such as VOOC car charger and VOOC power bank.

The company says that there has to be charger that can quickly fill up the battery, since the smartphones nowadays have grown from dual-core to quad-core and now to octa-core.

VOOC is capable of charging OPPO device’s battery life to 75% in only 30 minutes, whereas a regular 1A or 1.2A battery charger on average three hours to reach a 3,000mAh full charge.

OPPO has applied for 16 patents regarding charger’s design and construction and developed rapid charging technology.

VOOC also boasts an intelligent five-layer protection system which claims to be the safest mobile charging technology in the world.

VOOC has a micro-programmed control unit (MCU) integrated into the system to accurately control the entire charging process.

The MCU detects whether the connected device supports VOOC rapid charging technology. If the device supports the rapid charging, the VOOC will use a greater current and if not, a weaker current will be used.

The design of the charger has been changed and has many improvements over its predecessor which was launched with OPPO Find 7.

The VOOC charging technology will be readily accessible with the introduction of the VOOC power bank.

OPPO has also announced the launch of its latest OPPO R5 smartphone for the Indian customers. The device will be available in the stores by the end of December.

The device was launched on October 29 in Singapore. The price for Indian market is not yet announced, but is expected fall under 25k-30k price bracket.

The device sports a 5.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad core Cortex-A53 & quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 paired with 2GB RAM and Adreno 405 GPU.

The phone has 13MP rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, and a5MP front facing camera with 16GB internal memory. It is juiced up by a non-removable Li-Po 2000 mAh battery.
