Micromax has expanded its tablet portfolio with the launch of its new Canvas Tab P680. The device is priced at Rs 9,499 and will be available at retail as well as online stores.
In June, Micromax also launched its Canvas Tab P690 at a price of Rs 8,999. The Tab P690 also had similar specifications.
Starting with the display, the new tablet comes with a 8 inch WXGA IPS display with 800*1280 pixel resolution with Anti-glare coating. The Canvas Tab P690 also sports the same 8 inch IPS display.
The Tab P680 is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad core processor clubbed with 1GB RAM, while the Tab P690 has the 4th gen Intel Atom processor with 1GB RAM.
The new tablet runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, and Tab P690 is also upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Camera wise, both tablets are equipped with a 5MP rear camera with autofocus and a 2 MP front facing camera with fixed focus.
The Canvas Tab P680 has 16GB of internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card. The Tab P690 also has the same storage capacity.
On the connectivity front, both tablet has 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, microUSB and OTG. Both are fuelled by a 4000mAh battery.
The previous version also comes with a flipcover worth Rs 1,500 and also offers Vodafone users free 1GB data for 2 months.
Both Canvas Tab P680 and Tab 690 are basically the same device, but differ in pricing. The latest version has higher price despite having the similar specs.
