LG to launch most advanced model of G Pad

LG will be launching the most advanced model of its G Pad tablet series at IFA 2015 in Berlin. The LTE and Wi-Fi versions of G Pad II 10.1 will also become available in North America, Europe and Asia after the launch.

The G Pad II 10.1 offers a WUXGA (1920 x 1200) display and is powered by a 2.26GHz Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB RAM.

It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. It is backed by a 7,400mAh battery ― the largest in its class. It measures 254.3 x 161.1 x 7.8mm and weighs 489 g.

There is 5MP rear camera as well as a 2MP front facing camera on board with 16GB of internal storage and has a memory card slot for expansion.

Connectivity options on the device include LTE Cat. 4 CA / Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, ac / A-GPS / USB 2.0. Other features include Reader mode, dual Window, QuickMemo+.

Reader Mode makes reading e-books more comfortable by reducing the blue light of the display backlight, which causes eye fatigue and blurred vision.

Dual Window divides the screen allowing users to run two applications at the same time.

QuickMemo+ allows users to instantly create, save and share their memos from any screen, without having to open a separate application.

The G Pad II 10.1 also comes pre-loaded with Microsoft Office for Android Tablet and an additional 100GB of free OneDrive storage for two years.

The pricing and availability of the device will be announced locally at the time of launch.

“Customers asked for a large display, bigger battery and faster performance all without raising the price. The G Pad II delivers on all counts,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company.
