A new report from Japan says that Apple is working on a 12.2-inch iPad which is expected to arrive between April and June, 2015.
The report was published by a Japanese magazine, Mac Fan which showed the design and drawings for what it claims to be the 12.2-inch iPad Air Plus.
The report also suggest that the new tablet will be powered by a new Apple A9 processor and will have four speakers to offer omni-directional, stereo sound.
However the drawings by Mac Fan are not yet verified, but the Apple blog 9to5mac said that Mac Fan had published accurate drawings for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus prior to their launch.
The report also said that Apple will launch a new iPad mini variant called iPad mini 4 which will feature the same design as seen on the iPad Air 2.
Earlier, Bloomberg also reported that Apple was planning to launch a 12.9-inch version of the iPad for 2015, with production set to begin in the first quarter of the year.
A Wall Street Journal report also suggested that Apple had delayed the production of the large screen iPad to focus on the iPhone following increased demand.
In October, Apple launched the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 tablets. The tablets went on sale for the Indian market starting November 29.
iPad Air 2 16GB Wi-Fi will be selling at a price of Rs 35,900 while the 64GB and 128GB are priced at Rs 42,900 and Rs 49,900 respectively.
iPad Air 2 sports an improved Retina display for enhanced contrast. It also has a Touch ID fingerprint sensor button and gold colour option.
The device is powered by a A8X chip with second-generation 64-bit architecture and 40% faster CPU and also has an M8 motion co-processor.
The iPad Air 2 now has an 8MP iSight camera instead of the 5MP camera in previous version and a 1.2MP Facetime HD camera.
On the other hand iPad Mini 3 16GB WiFi is priced for Rs 28,900 while the 64GB and 128GB will be selling at Rs 35,900 and Rs 42,900 respectively. iPad Mini 3 has not seen many improvements over its predecessor.
