After the success of its first two smartphones, Micromax’s YU is all set to launch yet another smartphone.
The company has sent out media invites of the launch, which reads, “When Future Meets Past – The Next Wonder Will Be Unveiled.”
YU can launch this device exclusively with the e-commerce website Snapdeal. Previous YU phones were launched in partnership with Amazon.
The partnership is yet to be announced, but considering YU’s Co-Founder and CEO, Rahul Sharma’s Twitter conversation with Kunal Bahl, Co-Founder & CEO, Snapdeal, it seems confirmed.
The previous offering from YU was the Yuphoria, the successor of the well-known YU Yureka.
It is at Rs 6,999 and sports a metal body unlike its predecessor. It comes with a 5-inch IPS display (720 x 1080) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it, it is 8.2mm thick and weighs 170 grams.
The YU Yuphoria runs on Cyanogen OS 12 on top of Android Lollipop and does come with themes and other customization options which were available on the Yureka too.
The phone is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz with Adreno 306 GPU. The phone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM (expandable). The interesting thing about this dual-SIM phone is that it supports 4G LTE too.
