Xiaomi has unveiled one of its cheapest smartphones in India called Redmi 5A. The company says that it is a gift to Mi fans for making the Xiaomi No. 1 in the country. Indian Express reported that Xiaomi now holds 23.5 percent of smartphone shipments in India and sitting at No. 1 spot alongside with Samsung. The Chinese firm also said that the Redmi 5A is the successor to Redmi 4A. The company claims that it has sold over four million units of 4A within eight months of its release.
* 2GB RAM + 16GB storage: Priced at ₹ 4,999 for the first 5 million units, post which it will be available for ₹ 5,999.

Specs and features
Redmi 5A features a metallic matte finish in terms of design. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. The phone is available in two variants: 2GB RAM + 16GB storage and 3GB RAM + 32GB storage with the price of INR 4,999 and INR 5,999 respectively.
The device has a 5-inch fully-laminated HD display with 1280×720 pixel resolution and houses 3000 mAh battery. Redmi 5A sports 13MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and 5MP snapper. The device is available in three colors: dark grey, gold and rose gold. On the connectivity front, it supports Bluetooth, 4G LTE, GPS, and Wi-Fi. Furthermore, handset also comes up with IR blaster at the top with 3.5mm jack.
According to Xiaomi, “Redmi 5A is the smartphone for everyone.”
