Sony to roll out Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Xperia Z series

Sony has announced the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its Xperia smartphones. All phones from the Z series will receive this update.

The Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will also receive the update alongside Z series smartphones.

The company also announced that the Xperia M2 and Xperia M2 Aqua handsets will be directly updated to Android 5.1 Lollipop from Android 4.4 KitKat.

The update will allow Wi-Fi toggle to be handled directly from Quick Settings alongside Bluetooth and apps open faster than before. Issues with Okay Google have also been fixed.

Recently Sony launched Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone for Rs 24,999 in the country.

It is Sony’s first octa-core 64-bit smartphone, featuring the QualcommSnapdragon 615 processor with integrated 4G LTE connectivity and up to two-day battery life.

Xperia M4 Aqua has 13MP rear camera that is powered by Sony’s Exmor RS mobile sensor with a F2.0 aperture, and ISO 3200 sensitivity. Its digital compact camera technology can automatically sense up to 52 different scenarios.
