Sony India has released Xperia M4 Aqua smartphone for Rs 24,999 in the country – focusing on camera capabilities.
Xperia M4 Aqua has 13MP rear camera that is powered by Sony’s Exmor RS mobile sensor with a F2.0 aperture, and ISO 3200 sensitivity. Its digital compact camera technology can automatically sense up to 52 different scenarios.
The 5MP rear camera has a wide-angle lens with an 88° field of view. The selfie editing feature sits alongside Sony’s preloaded Xperia Camera apps. It has Sound Photo for adding a short clips to your pictures and Movie Creator, which automatically converts your pictures and videos into snappy thirty second vignette clips.

A tempered glass display, with the svelte 136g waterproof (IP65/8 rated) body reengineered for cap-less microUSB charging are the additional attractions of Xperia M4 Aqua.
Xperia M4 Aqua is Sony’s first octa-core 64-bit smartphone, featuring the QualcommSnapdragon 615 processor with integrated 4G LTE connectivity and up to two-day battery life. Battery STAMINA Mode to optimize how your battery is used and Ultra STAMINA Mode to keep your phone running on its core functions for a week.
Sony India, announcing the devices at a press meet in Delhi, said that the Xperia Aqua M4 will be available from Tuesday.
The smartphone supplier also said its C4 Dual will be available from mid-June. Sony didn’t disclose the price of the C series variant.
The new devices were showcased in the Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona this year and have nearly the same specifications. While the Aqua M4 is the first complete water-proof smartphone in the mid-range segment, the C4 boasts of having more camera modes than the rivals.
“We are looking to reach the top in this price segment with our new releases and in the future Sony will release many more products,” said Mukesh Srivastava, head at product marketing (Xperia devices).
