Samsung has made its Galaxy Xcover 3 Rugged smartphone official. The company is most likely to showcase the device at the CeBIT trade show in Germany.
The design of the device makes it a standalone performer. It meets US MIL-STD 810G requirements for surviving adverse temperature, humidity, rain and altitude conditions.
The Galaxy Xcover 3 sports a 4.5 inch WVGA display with 480*800 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM.
It runs Android 4.4 KitKat and is upgradeable to Android 5.0 Lollipop. Connectivity options includeLTE, GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Micro-USB.
The phone boasts a 5MP rear camera with underwater shooting mode and a 2MP front camera. It has 8GB internal storage capacity and is further expandable via microSD card.
The phone is dustproof, shock- and water-resistant with IP67 certification and can survive dipped in up to 1 metre water for up to 30 minutes.
It measures 9.95mm thick and weighs 154 grams. The handset is juiced by a 2200mAh battery. it also includes Samsung Knox suite of mobile enterprise security solutions.
