Samsung has unveiled its new Galaxy A8 smartphone for the Indian market. The device will be selling at a price of Rs 32,500.
The phone comes with a slim design ,measuring only 5.9 mm in thickness. It will be available in Black, White, and Gold colour variants.
The device sports a 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display with 1080*1920 pixel resolution. It is powered by a octa-core Samsung Exynos 5430 SoC (four cores clocked at 1.3GHz, and four at 1.8GHz) paired with 2GB RAM.
It runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with TouchWiz UI on the top. The phone also has an integrated fingerprint sensor which also doubles as the home button.
The smartphone is equipped with a 16MP rear shooter with LED flash, optical image stabilisation, f/1.9 aperture and a wide-angle lens (120 degrees).
It also boasts a 5MP front facing camera. Users can open the camera app just by pressing the home button twice.
It comes with 32GB internal memory, which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.
On the connectivity front, the device offers Bluetooth 4.1, dual band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, Glonass, and LTE with Band 40 (2300MHz) and Band 3 (1800MHz) support.
The smartphone is juiced by a 3050mAh battery, which as per the company gives a standby time (4G TDD LTE + 2G GSM) of up to 304 hours.
Last Month, Samsung also announced the launch of two new 4G enabled smartphones in the J Series -Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7. Both devices are aggressively priced at Rs 11,999 and Rs 14,999 respectively.
Both Galaxy J7 and J5 will be selling exclusively through the e-commerce website Flipkart.
The Galaxy J7 comes with a 5.5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display while the Galaxy J5 sports a 5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display.
The Galaxy J7 is powered by a 1.5GHz Exynos octa-core processor, while a 1.2GHz quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor powers the Galaxy J5.
Both devices have 1.5 GB of RAM and run Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
Camera wise, both Galaxy J7 and J5 are packed with a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera.
