Qiku has launched its first smartphone for the Indian market, Qiku Q Terra at a price of Rs 19,999. The device will cost Rs 21,999 if bought without an invite.
Qiku is a joint venture Coolpad and internet company Qihoo 360. Chinese smartphone vendor entered the Indian market in May this year with the launch of Dazen 1 and Dazen x7 smartphones.
The high end Q Terra packs a 6 inch full HD IPS display with 1080*1920 pixel resolution and 386 ppi. It is powered by a Snapdragon MSM8992 808 SoC clocked at 2GHz with Adreno 418 GPU, and is backed by 3GB of RAM.
It sports a dual 13MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and features like ‘Fast Focus’, geo-tagging, and support for 4K video recording. One 13-megapixel sensor captures a normal colour image, while the second captures a black and white image.
On the front side, the device has an 8MP camera with f/2.4 aperture also on board, capable of shooting videos in full-HD resolution.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, and other standard connectivity features. It is backed by a 3700mAh battery with support for faster charging.
The device was launched in China in October. QiKU conducted its first flash sale for QiKU Terra powered by Snapdragon 808 processor, in China and sold 35,000 units within 8 seconds of the sale. The QiKU Terra is priced at approximately $314 in China.
The Indian version was reported to have two versions QIKU Terra 808 & QIKU Terra 810.
Both devices run Qihoo 360 operating system, which is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and comes with additional security features.
In addition to the secure payments feature, the handsets also let users remotely disable the lost phones even if it isn’t connected to the Internet or have a registered SIM card.
The users can also hide confidential documents on the device using a unique personal code.
