Micromax to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Yu Yureka

Yureka Televentures has confirmed that Yu Yureka will receive the Android 5.0 Lollipop update this month.

The company announced the update for the smartphone through Facebook and Twitter.

Yu Yureka smartphone runs CM11S based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat. The company promised an Android 5.0 Lollipop-based build at the launch of the device.

The company released a bug fix update for Yureka smartphone in February.

Micromax also hinted that the company is going to launch Yureka’s successor in April.

The company said, that the handset would launch in April and will run on the Android Lollipop version of Cyanogen OS, implying a slightly customised version of CM12S.

In January, the company sold 10,000 units of YUREKA in 3 seconds through its online partner Amazon.in.

The Micromax YU features a 64-bit CPU with a custom Cyanogen OS. It sport a 5.5-inch HD display and powered by a 1.7Ghz MT6592 octa-core processor paired with 2GB RAM, with MT6290 modem for 4G LTE.

The device has 16GB of internal storage with expansion slot. It boasts a 13MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera,

The phone is juiced by a 2500mAh battery. It also has a Snapdragon 615 variant that has FDD-LTE support.
