Micromax today announced its first 4G LTE smartphone, Canvas Knight 2. The phone is priced at Rs 16,299.
The new device has a glass and metal design and comes with a 5 inch HD AMOLED display. Both sides of the phone are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It is powered by a 64-Bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa Core processor clocked at 1.5 GHz paired with 2GB RAM. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.0.
The phone is equipped with 13MP AF rear camera powered with Sony IMX214 CMOS sensor and LARGAN 5P lens. It also has a 5MP FF front camera accompanied with Omnivison OV5648 and LARGAN 4P lens.
The Canvas Knight 2 also comes preloaded with CleanMaster, Apps Center, Snapdeal, SwiftKey, Chaatz, Newshunt, Quikr, and Hotstar apps. The audio is powered by Cirrus Logic Wolfson Stereo WM8998 audio.
It is juiced by a 2260mAh battery that claims to deliver up to 7 hours and 45 minutes of talk time, and 335 hours of standby time.
“With the launch of our new device Canvas Knight 2, the first in the 4G range, we are looking at driving the next wave of internet evolution in the country. Over the next few months, we are all set to launch a series of 4G LTE enabled devices across a range of price points each addressing unique needs of the Indian consumer. ” said Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax.
Past week, Micromax listed its Canvas A1 smartphone on its website. The device has been re-launched with 8GB memory. It was launched under the Android One campaign.
The new version of the device will be selling at a price of Rs 6,039 through an e-commerce website eBay.
The Canvas A1 sports a 4.5-inch IPS FWVGA display with 480×854 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. On the connectivity front it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, and it is juiced by a 1700mAh battery.
