After updating its high-end smartphones, Lenovo has commenced updating its mid-range S series smartphones – S930, S820, S920 and S660 – to Android 4.4 KitKat version.
Lenovo will end the update rollout in September by updating its S660 to the latest version, which will help all its smartphones getting the UI available in Vibe series and Lenovo Premium DOit Apps such as SECUREit, SHAREit and SYNCit..
The update supports better application compatibility along with further security enhancements and bug fixes. The UI gets a new simple clutter free look and a user friendly incoming call interface.
Auto focus and white balance capabilities ensure better camera experience with clearer, sharper, vividly rich and vibrant images. The upgrade will also boost Lenovo power manager for improved battery utilization.
Sudhin Mathur, director, Lenovo India said: “After rolling out updates for Vibe Z, Vibe X and S860 last month, we are now bringing Android 4.4 to six of our mid-range smartphones at various price points. These updates are poised to take the user experience of these phones to a different level.”
Some of the key upgrades are the enhanced notification access updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and expanded accessibility APIs. The updates also equips the smartphones with features such as the face orientation rotation feature, the smart call feature, smart swipe, pocket mode, parental mode and the smart dialer.
