Gionee has expanded its Pioneer smartphone portfolio with the launch of the new Pioneer P2M. The device will be selling at a price of Rs 6,999.
The Pioneer P2M is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone with dual standby support. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box skinned with Amigo 3.0 UI.
It sports a 4 inch WVGA IPS display with 480*800 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
The device packs a 5MP rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP front facing camera. The camera feature includes scene detection, face recognition, Panorama, geo-tagging, Best shot, Smile shot, and HDR options.
The phone has 16GB of internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 32GB using a microSD card.
On the connectivity front, the Pioneer P2M offers 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Micro-USB, and Bluetooth options.
The smartphone is juiced a 3000mAh battery which claims to deliver up to 15 hours of talk time, and up to 300 hours of standby time on 3G networks.
The phone measures 124×62.5×10.9mm and will be available in Black, Golden, and White colours. The smartphone features a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, a magnetometer, and an ambient light sensor.
The new phone will go against the likes of Lava Iris Fuel 50, which was launched at a price of Rs7,799.
Iris Fuel 50 comes with 5 inch FWVGA IPS display with scratch resistant Asahi Dragon-trail glass protection. It has the traditional 1.3 GHz Quad core processor and 1GB RAM. It comes with 8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 32 GB.
It is a dual SIM phone that supports 3G in one of the SIM slots. The main attraction of Iris Fuel 50, the first smartphone to be launched under the Fuel sub brand, will be its battery capacity. Lava claims that Iris Fuel 50’s 3000 mAh battery enables users to utilize Iris Fuel 50 continuously for 1.5 days without charging again.
