BlackBerry is expected to launch its Leap smartphone in Indian market. The device will be selling at a price of Rs 21,490.
BlackBerry Leap was showcased at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona earlier this year. The company said at the time it plans to launch two more smartphones with a physical keyboard.
The BlackBerry Leap features a 5 inch full-touch display with 720 pixels and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 chipset with Adreno 225 GPU paired with 2GB RAM.
The phone runs on the BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 and is compatible with FDD-LTE Band 3 that is likely to be used by some operators in the future.
The BlackBerry Leap is equipped with an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera with 16GB internal storage capacity which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
BlackBerry Leap is powered by a 2800mAh battery, which claims to offer up to 25 hours back up.
In February this year, the company also announced BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 for 10 BlackBerry devices. BlackBerry 10 OS version 10.3.1 comes with improved features.
BlackBerry Blend, BlackBerry Assistant and battery boosting technology are the new enhancements, while improvements are in the BlackBerry Hub, calendar, camera and multimedia.
Users can now boost their battery life by up to 15 percent by customizing Power Saving Profile, said BlackBerry.
This latest version also introduces dual app stores, offering access to hundreds of thousands of apps through the BlackBerry World storefront and the Amazon Appstore.
