Will the Philips XENIUM I908 be able to compete against these smartphones? Here’s a comparison of these devices.

Starting with the display, the XENIUM I908 packs a 5 inch full HD display with 1080*1920 pixel resolution and 441 ppi. The Moto G (3rd gen) on the other hand has a 5 inch IPS LCD display with 720*1280 pixel resolution and 294 ppi.

The Galaxy J5 sports a 5 inch 720p Super AMOLED display with 720*1280 pixel resolution and 294 ppi, while the Lava Pixel V1 has the biggest 5.5 inch 720p display with 267 ppi.

The Philips XENIUM I908 is backed by a 1.7GHz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM, while the Moto G uses the 1.4 quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor.

The Samsung Galaxy J5 runs on a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 processor with 1.5 GB RAM and the Pixel V1 is powered by a MediaTek 1.3 GHz quad core processor with 2GB RAM.

The XENIUM I908 runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, while the other three devices runs the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

Camera wise, the XENIUM I908, Galaxy J5 and Moto G (3rd gen) have a 13MP rear camera with LED flash, whereas the Pixel V1 sports an 8MP rear camera with flash.

All four device feature a 5MP front facing camera, but Galaxy J5 has a front flash as well and the Moto G offers the auto HDR mode.

Talking of storage, the XENIUM I908 has 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 32GB. Both Galaxy J5 and Moto G come in 8 and 16GB variants. The Galaxy J5 can be expanded up to 128GB while the Moto G has 32GB of external storage capacity.

The Lava Pixel V1 in turn has a 32GB internal storage capacity and does not have support for memory expansion.

Both Moto G and Galaxy J5 are 4G ready smartphones, but the Philips XENIUM I908 and Lava Pixel V1 only offer 3G connectivity.

Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and MicroUSB.

The Moto G (3rd gen) also has water resistant capabilities which allows the phone to stay unharmed under 1m water for 30 minutes. No other phone in this price bracket offers this feature.

Choosing a phone in this price segment can be a difficult choice, but the XENIUM I908 can be decent choice if you look beyond the flaws of the device.

It offers an excellent display with a powerful processor, has a good set of camera. Apart from XENIUM I908, the Moto G can be also be a good choice.

The Lava Pixel V1 seems a bit over priced considering its specifications. It is hard to recommend the phone over the likes of its contemporaries.

You can also opt for the Samsung Galaxy J5 as it is the most aggressively priced smartphone from Samsung and offers quality hardware as well as good user experience.
