Apple launches OS X EI Capitan

Apple has unveiled OS X EI Capitan, a new version of OS X that refines the Mac experience and improves system performance.

El Capitan introduces enhancements to window management, built-in apps and Spotlight search, and makes everyday activities faster and more responsive.

The company said, Metal, Apple’s graphics technology is integrated into EI Captain which delivers system-wide performance gains and enable games and pro apps to tap into the full power of Mac graphics processors.

Apple announced Mission Control which is the quickest way to view all open windows, has a cleaner design so that user can find the window they need even faster.

User can drag a window to the top of screen to access the new Spaces Bar in Mission Control and create a new Space.
This apart, user can also work with both apps without distraction with new Split View feature which automatically positions two app windows side-by-side in full screen.

Additionally, Safari now features Pinned Sites to keep favorite websites open and active in tab bar and a new mute button to quickly silence browser audio from any tab.

User can add names or events to contacts or calendar with a single click with a new feature, Smart Suggestions, can also delete messages with swipe and juggle multiple emails while Mail is in full screen.

Also, locations can be added to a single image or an entire moment and album can be sorted by date or title while Easy-to-create checklists help to keep track of important to-do items.

The all-new Notes app in EI Capitan enable users to drag and drop photos, PDFs, videos and other files into notes and add content directly from other apps, such as Safari or Maps, using the Share menu.

OS X EI Capitan improves system performance across Mac. The developer preview of OS X EI Capitan is available to Mac Developer Program.
