Pantel Technologies, a company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, has joined hands with India Post and BSNL to sell Penta Bharat phone PF 301 through the post offices.
Department of Post (DoP) will launch this project in Rajasthan — after getting the huge response in Kerala, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.
Rajasthan Postal Circle will sell mobile phones through its head post offices. The company has sold more than 70,000 Penta Bharat phones in less than a year. The company will expand the sale to many other post offices. Pantel
Technologies will launch a couple of low priced smartphones from in the next few weeks.
In addition to post offices, customers can book the phone via online marketplace Grab The Future.
The internet-enabled Penta Bharat phone comes with 1999 minutes of free talk time from BSNL over its network over a period of 18 months. The price of the phone is Rs 1999.
Penta PF 301 is a keyboard operated phone that has features like 2.8” wide screen, dual SIM, FM radio, audio player, torch and camera. Its battery lasts a week in standby mode without charging. The phone comes with a one year comprehensive warranty.
