OPPO Mobiles India has announced plans to launch over 10 smartphones in India by December 2014.
OPPO, the Chinese mobile phone maker, made its entry into the Indian market in early 2014 with the launch of OPPO N1 smartphone by brand ambassadors- Bollywood stars Hrithik Roshan and Sonam Kapoor.
OPPO currently has 4 smartphone models available in India: OPPO R1, OPPO Find 5 and OPPO Neo. Its latest product OPPO Find 7 is getting ready for launch in mid-2014.
Smartphone market in India is getting fiercely competitive with aggressive launches both from native and multinational players. Chinese players like Gionee, Lenovo, Huawei and ZTE have been able to capture a good share from the explosive smartphone market in India.
Gionee, which made its entry into the smartphone market in India in February 2013, now boasts around 2 percent of smartphone marketshare in India. The company aims to become the market leader in the country in the next five years.
OPPO’s new launches undoubtedly adds momentum to this scenario. The company is planning to open offline stores throughout the country to better provide its users with on-site service and an overall more personal experience with products.
The company retails through its sales and service network in 12 major cities – New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Kolkata, Pune and Lucknow.
