The next iPhone will be launched on September 10.
Media reports suggest that the new smartphone may be iPhone 5S, 5C or a cheaper version of iPhone.
The device major does not confirm the development.
After Samsung launched Galaxy S4, it came out with Galaxy S4 mini and Galaxy S4 Zoom to ensure that phone users are continuing its purchase of S4.
Apple failed to bring out a new phone in the recent past.
iPhone 5 was launched on September 12, 2012.
In 2012, Apple started taking pre-orders two days after the launch of iPhone 5 and the phone went on sale two-and-a-half weeks later.
Apple has promoted iPhones in India to shore up sales. For instance, Apple iPhone 5 is coming with 3G data offers from Reliance Communications on its GSM network, and not CDMA. Reliance Communications priced 3G data at Rs 99 per GB for iPhone 5 buyers.
The gadget major also announced a special buy back offer. Apple iPhone 4 (16GB) is now available at a price of Rs 23,800 after buy back offer. The official price of Apple iPhone 4 (16GB) is Rs 31,800.
Apple recently said Indian mobile phone users can buy iPhone 5, iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 with 10 percent cash back offer. The cash back offer is available on American Express Credit Cards. The validity of the offer was till 10 June, 2013.
For iPhone 5, the down payment will be Rs 16,990 and monthly payment of Rs 2,376 for the 12-month EMI option or Rs 4,752 for the 6-month EMI plan, Apple said in an advertisement on Sunday. The cash back is Rs 4,550 for iPhone 5. Apple is offering the cash back plan on iPhone 5 16 GB version only.
