Micromax Canvas MAd A94 smartphone, which will be launched shortly, may offer advertisements to monetize from mobile users.
The users of the new budget Canvas MAd A94 will get paid to watch ads on their smartphone. The phone will be targeted at Indian youth and not business professionals.
Micromax Canvas MAd A94 sport a 4.5-inch screen, a quad-core processor paired with 512MB RAM and 4GB inbuilt memory with options of expansions via microSD card. It is likely to have 5.0-megapixel camera on the rear side and a VGA snapper on the front.
Many are speculating that the company’s MAd service will kick start with launch of Canvas MAd A94 (probably by January end) and then the service will be made available to other Micromax smartphones.
Micromax Co-founder Rahul Sharma while attending the International CES 2014 said: “It’s not for business people, who are on the move and don’t have time to watch advertisements. This is aimed at the youth, who could use the cash and don’t mind watching advertisements.”
Micromax, India’s second largest smartphone vendor, aims to target youth and people who own sub-Rs 10,000 smartphones. They will be asked to choose options of watching 30 or 60 second ads and then he/she would be offered points which can be cashed in as talk-time vouchers, according to media reports.
Micromax Canvas MAd smartphone would be priced under Rs 7,500.
