Apple iPhone 4, its old phone, has reached India for a price of Rs 22,900 to take on Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 which is available for Rs 22,501.
The American devices vendor earlier suspended the sale of this old phone in order to push the sale of Apple iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s in India and other markets.
Both Apple iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s are not its best sellers in India and China at present. Apple could not sell enough volumes of Apple iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s on China Mobile network. It is reported that Apple sold around 1 million units of latest iPhones to China Mobile users.
Earlier, select media speculated that Apple iPhone 4 smartphone will be available for around Rs 15,000 in India with a possible buy back scheme.
Interestingly, the smartphone vendor did not announce any buy back offer and the final price is Rs 22,900 in the Indian mobile phone market which is dominated by Samsung.
Apple is re-launching its old phone at a time when Samsung announced the arrival of Galaxy Grand 2 across the country.
Galaxy Grand 2 is available for Rs 22,501 against Apple iPhone 4’s price of Rs 22,900. Apple is offering 10 percent cash back on credit card EMI transactions with Standard Chartered and 5 percent from CitiBank. HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank are offering EMI options without cash back offers.
