Lava International, a smartphone vendor, has supplied M-TAB tablets that feature 1.5 Ghz dual core processor to 11,000 students in Meghalaya under a government scheme.
M-TAB specifications include 1GB RAM, 4GB Internal memory, 7-inch 1024 * 600 pixel resolution, 3700 mAh battery, Android Jelly Bean v4.1 and 2MP primary camera. For connectivity options, the tablet has Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 port, HDMI port, Bluetooth and 3G dongle support.
Lava, which is expanding its presence in the digital learning sector by releasing a number of tablets, says that M-TAB features an in built education app named Digital Library which enables students to access the educational content.
Students will benefit as the tablet has study materials of Class XI and Class XII courses of CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) and MBOSE (Meghalaya Board of School Education).
It also offers sample question papers for medical and engineering examinations, classroom teaching format video and audio books and Megh-Tube, a short video clip that showcases the development activities in Meghalaya have also been pre-loaded in the tablets on the 8GB memory card.
