Chinese smartphone vendor Xiaomi has launched its Redmi 1S smartphone at the price of Rs.5,999. Like Xiaomi Mi3, Redmi 1S will also be exclusively available through the e-commerce website Flipkart.
Redmi 1S will also follow the flash sales strategy like the Mi 3. Registrations for the phone will begin August 26.
The smartphone is most likely to challenge Moto E in all aspects, from price to specifications.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S is a Dual SIM smartphone which boasts a 4.7 inch 720p IPS display with Gorilla Glass 2 protection.
It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad core processor paired with 1GB RAM.
The smart phone sports a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and 1.6MP front camera.
The internal storage capacity of the smartphone is 8 GB which can be further extended to 64 GB via micro SD card.
The Device supports Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI v5 skin on top and Dirac technology for sound enhancement.
It is fueled up by a 2000mAh battery. connectivity options include 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth 4.0 and microUSB 2.0.

Xiaomi had a successful run with its Mi 3 launch via Flipkart. The company says the quantity of Redmi 1S units will be higher than the flagship. But, it will continue with its controversial flash sales model.
