Idea Cellular has unveiled Idea ULTRA II, the 5.5” 3G smartphone, priced at an MRP of Rs 12,500 for high-end mobile data consumers in India.
The phone will be available in Idea’s major 3G markets – Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, UP West, and UP East.
The 3G smartphone from Idea comes as a response to the growing demand for high-end data phones. The company has witnessed consistent growth in data uptake in its 3G markets where Idea branded 3G smartphones have been selling.

Idea has also launched an 1GHz dual core entry-level 3G smartphone Idea !d 1000 for the first-time data consumers. The phone features the latest Android Jellybean 4.2 OS with fast download speed and sufficient internal storage capacity.

Priced at an MRP of just Rs 5,400, this smartphone will be available across Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra & Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, UP West and UP East.
With the high-end Idea ULTRA II and the entry-level Idea !d 1000, the company targets consumers at both ends of the spectrum, said Sashi Shankar, chief marketing officer, Idea Cellular.
With this launch, Idea’s portfolio of 3G smartphones has gone up to 15, and the company has already sold over 6.5 lakh devices its earlier range of smartphones.
