IT vendor Intex on Thursday introduced Aqua i6 smartphone — powered by MediaTek’s 1.3GHz quad-core platform MT6582.
Priced at Rs 8,990 in India, Aqua i6 smartphone’s chipset is designed for smartphones with high performance using four energy efficient Cortex A7 cores, clocked at 1.3 GHz and a Mali400MP2GPU – both from ARM.
There are several rival smartphones that can compete with Aqua i6.
Smartphones available in the Rs 9,000 range include Nokia Lumia 520 (Rs 8,180), Samsung Galaxy Young (Rs 8,219), Samsung Galaxy S Duos (Rs 9,654), Karbonn Titanium S2 (Rs 8,399), Sony Xperia E (Rs 8,000), Micromax Canvas Doodle A111 (Rs 9,999), BlackBerry Curve 9220 (Rs 8,599), HTC Desire A320E (Rs 7,990) and Huawei Ascend Y (Rs 7,490).
Aqua i6 that features a 5-inch FWVGA display has Android OS Jelly Bean (4.2.2).
8.0MP rear camera with flash and 2.0MP at the front will be good enough Aqua i6.
The cost effective smartphone has an internal memory of 4 GB and can be expanded up to 32GB.
The phone has connectivity options such as 3G, HSPA, Wi-Fi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, etc.
The company claims that the 1900mAh battery lasts for more than 6 hours and gives a standby time of 220 hours.
Aqua i6 will be available in black and white colors. The company is selling the new smartphone across 40,000 plus dealers, reseller outlets, more than 42 Intex Squares exclusive retail stores, several hypermarkets and e-commerce portals.
