Panasonic has introduced the Toughbook CF-54 semi rugged PC. These PC’s come with a slim design and are light weight and will be selling at a price of Rs 1,39,000.
The device measures 29.8 mm in thickness and weighs 1.99 kg. It is approximately 50% thinner and 25% lighter than the previous model CF-53.
It is powered by a 5th Generation Intel Core i5-5300U vPro processor with 3 MB cache, 2.3 GHz up to 2.9 GHz with Intel Turbo Boost Technology with 4Gb RAM expandable up to 16Gb.
It comes with Spill Resistant Keyboard, vibration, shock resistant features. It is 2.5 feet drop shock resistant.
The Toughbook CF-54 offers up to 11 hours of battery backup and also has an option of hot swappable battery feature enabling users to change batteries without shutting down the computer.
It offers optional smart card reader, fingerprint reader and contactless smart card reader and various interfaces and options like Serial Port, VGA, PC Card, Rugged USB, 2nd LAN and others.
In May, the company announced the launch of Toughbook CF-54 alongside rugged tablets, Toughpad FZ-E1/X1.
The Toughpad FZ-E1 running Windows 8.1 and Toughpad X1 running Android 4.4.2 OS will be selling at a price of Rs Rs.119,000 and Rs. 109,000 respectively.
Both tablet packs 5-inch 720p HD Display and are powered by 2.3 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974AB) / 1.7 GHz Qualcomm S4 Pro (APQ8064T) processors with 2GB RAM.
They are equipped with 8MP rear camera with flash and a 1.3MP front camera. Both are dust and water resistance with IP65/IP58 rating.
Connectivity options include 4G LTE/ 3G, WiFi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.0, Satellite GPS, micro HDMI. Both are juiced by a 6,200 mAh hot-swappable battery with 14 hours talk-time, 1000 hours stand-by.
