Google launches new range of Chrome devices in India

Google today unveiled a new range of affordable Chromebooks for the Indian market for Education and Chrome OS for Businesses.

The new range includes the XOLO Chromebook, which will be selling at Rs 12,999 through e-commerce website Snapdeal.

The Nexian Air Chromebook featuring  a rugged splashproof construction, is now available from Amazon at Rs 12999.

Units from ASUS including the Chromebook Flip and C201 and Samsung will be available from local retailers in the coming months.

According to IDC’s latest report on tablets and laptops in K­12 education, Chromebooks were the best­selling device in the U.S. last year.

Now Chromebooks are available for Indian schools and educational institutions nationally.

They also come with Google Apps for Education and with the Chromebook Management Console, administrators can set up and manage up to thousands of Chromebooks from a computer or phone.

The company also announced Asus Chromebox for meetings, priced at Rs. 90,000 in India. It comes with a 4th Generation Intel Core i7-4600U processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB of RAM. On the connectivity front it offers, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, 2 -in-1 Card Reader, two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI, DC-in port and Display port.
