NaMo Saffron smartphones to be costly for Indians: Rs 18,000 for 16 GB, Rs 23,000 for 32GB

Smartphones called NaMo Saffron One & Two – to promote the Gujarat chief minister – will be costly for Indians. The 16 GB version will cost Rs 18,000, while the 32GB model will be priced at Rs 23,000.

Ecommerce site Snapdeal.com has listed these newly launched phones for pre-bookings.

The Gujarat CM is not officially associated with the launch of new phone launch. But his fans are doing this to promote his vision with an aim to capture the prime minister slot in Delhi in 2014.

Political pundits are speculating that if the chief minister can bring more votes from rural India and select communities, he will be able to win the next election in India.

NaMo Saffron One & Two smartphones come with a 5.0 and 6.5 inch capacitive display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 HD. It is powered by a 1.5GHz Cortex A7 processor and runs on the Android 4.2.1 OS.

SmartNamo specifications and price

Smart NaMo Saffron One features a 13.0MP rear camera with flashlight and autofocus along with a 5.0MP front camera. Its connectivity features include Bluetooth, WI-FI, GPS etc.

The phone will be pre-loaded with applications pertaining to Narendra Modi, BJP and India Vision.

Apart from the price, the key difference between the 16GB and 32GB versions are the internal memory. Both phones are powered by 1.5 Ghz Quad Core.
