Moto G smartphone from Google’s Motorola Mobility is now available in India. The 8 GB version is priced Rs.12499 and the 16 GB version is priced Rs.13999.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Delhi today.
Moto G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with quad-core CPU. The 4.5-inch phone features Android 4.3 Jellybean OS. Motorola claims it has the sharpest HD display and all day battery.
Flipkart, Motorola’s e-commerce partner, is now offering the phone through its portal. The e-commerce portal has announced a number of freebies and discounts for those who make the purchase on the day of the launch, which include 70 percent off on colorful covers and 100 percent cashback offer to lucky ones.
Motorola Mobility senior executives including Magnus Ahlqvist, corporate VP of EMEA Asia Pacific; Marcus Frost, senior marketing director, EMEA, and Punit Soni, VP, Software Product Management were present at the launch.
Sachin Bansal, co-founder and CEO of Flipkart and Binny Bansal, co-founder and COO of Flipkart, were also there.
Moto G smartphone was launched globally in November 2013. The price is $179 for 8GB model in the U.S.
Motorola is offering a guaranteed upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat at the beginning of 2014.
