Samsung has announced its much awaited smartphone, Galaxy S5 Mini. It will be available at a price of Rs 26,499 for Indian customers. It will be available on e-commerce website, Flipkart.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is Galaxy S5’s successor and has a compact design.
The device sports innovative features like water & dust resistance, ultra power saving mode and heart rate monitoring.
The smartphone packs Samsung’s flagship features in a smaller size. The Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S5 Mini differ in display, camera and processor.

Galaxy S5 Mini sports a 4.5-inch HD (720p) Super AMOLED screen which is smaller to the 5.1 inch Full HD (1080p) display of Galaxy S5.
The Galaxy S5 Mini is powered by a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad-core processor which is not as good as the eight-core Exynos processor in Galaxy S5. S5 Mini has a 1.5 GB RAM
Galaxy S5 Mini boasts a 8MP camera with LED flash, going down from 16MP. It also has 2.1MP front camera.

Apart from the setbacks, S5 Mini retained the fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor, which debuted with Galaxy S5.
It is IP67 certified, meaning that it is water and dust resistant to an extent, and has Galaxy S5’s Ultra Power Saving mode.
The device has a 16GB internal storage and can be extended up to 64GB via Micro SD card and comes with Samsung’s proprietary TouchWiz UI.
On the connectivity front it has 2G, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB 2.0 and NFC. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The device is juiced by a 2100mAh and has good battery backup.

The device is available in 4 trendy colors – charcoal Black, shimmery White, electric Blue and copper Gold. The S5 Mini and will be selling exclusively through Flipkart.
Flipkart had reportedly sold 1 million smartphones that include Moto E, Moto G and Moto X through Flipkart’s distribution network.
With a surge in e-commerce in India, mobile device makers such as Spice and Xiaomi have also recently tied up with Flipkart to leverage the latter’s retail distribution network.
