Acer, the Taiwanese PC maker, on Monday introduced its 5.7-inch Android smartphone.
The new smartphone will be launched in global markets in the third quarter of 2013.
The company did not announce the price of the new phone.
Acer, which will be showcasing its new products at Computex trade show in Taipei this week, said the Liquid S1 runs on Android 4.2 operating system.
The Acer smartphone has a 1280 x 720 pixel screen resolution.
Quad core 1.5 GHz chip is powering the new smartphone.
The new phone’s battery life will be 11 hours.
Capacity of front camera will be 2MP, while rear camera will be of 8MP.
Meanwhile, Acer has also launched its 8-inch tablet on Microsoft Windows 8. The price of the new tablet – Acer Iconia W3 — will be between $400 and $500.
Acer says the new device is the world’s first 8-inch tablet to run on Microsoft’s Windows 8 OS.
The Iconia W3 has a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and is equipped with Intel’s Atom Z2760 processor, a dual-core chip with a clock speed of 1.8 GHz. It weighs 500 grams, comes in white color, and has a battery life of up to 8 hours. Both the front and rear have a 2 megapixel camera.
