Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus before the official launch, which is scheduled for December 7. The company’s spokesperson Donovan Sung has shared the pictures of the smartphones on Twitter. The images suggest that the devices will sport 18:9 displays.
Sung has captioned the post with “Is everyone ready for the all-new Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus? We’re launching these two new devices in China on Thursday Dec 7. Giving everyone a sneak preview!”
It is worth noting that Xiaomi Redmi 5 was earlier spotted on TENNA (Chinese telecommunications certification authority website).

Expected specs and features
Rumors suggest that Redmi 5 might feature 5.7-inch HD+ 18:9 display. On the processor front, the smartphone could come up with Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB or 4GB RAM. The internal storage in the mentioned device is not confirmed.
Furthermore, XiaomiRedmi 5 is heavily speculated to sport 3200mAh battery and 12-megapixel primary camera with a 5-Megapixel snapper. The smartphone is expected to run on Android 7.1.2. For security, the device might come up with a fingerprint scanner on the rear.
On the other hand, the bigger version of Redmi 5 called Redmi 5 Plus is expected to mark Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB RAM and 4000mAh battery. There is nothing else is known regarding the said handset. Stay tuned for more tech updates.
