MWC 2014: HTC Desire 816 v/s Desire 610

HTC Desire 816 and HTC Desire 610 – announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2014 – are coming with traditional HTC features.

These are two mid-range Android smartphones for the mobile Internet world.

Peter Chou, CEO of HTC, said: “Incomparably beautiful to look at and hold with the technology and software to match, the HTC Desire 816 challenges everything that people expect from lower cost smartphones. It is bringing genuine choice to the category by delivering stunning design and high-end performance at unbelievable value.”

The Taiwanese smartphone vendor did not announce the price of its mid range smart devices. So we cannot make a comparison on the price.

HTC-Desire-610

HTC Desire 816 will be costly as compared with HTC Desire 610 considering its features.

While HTC Desire 816 will be available in April, the budget HTC Desire 610 will hit the stands in May in select mobile markets.

Both phones feature traditional features such as HTC’s dual-frontal speakers, HTC BoomSound for audio quality and HTC BlinkFeed are part of Desire 816.

Camera

HTC Desire 816 features 13MP rear camera with HTC Zoe, automatic highlight videos and 5MP front camera, while HTC Desire 610 sports 8MP rear camera that can capture 720p video and 1.3MP front  camera.

Display

HTC Desire 816 sports 5.5-inch display with a resolution of 720 X 1280p. while HTC Desire 610 features 4.7-inch qHD (540 X 960p) display.

Storage

HTC Desire 816 features 8GB internal storage that can be expandable through a microSD card. Battery

HTC Desire 610 has 8GB internal that can be storage expandable through a microSD card

Battery

2,600mAh battery supports HTC Desire 816 for daily mobile activities. HTC Desire 610 has 2,040mAh battery.

Processor

HTC Desire 816 is powered by 1.6 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon quad core processor. It also has 1.5GB RAM.

HTC Desire 610 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon. 1GB RAM will support the processing.

Both phones come with Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options and support for 4G LTE.
