Is Micromax Canvas Turbo the remake of Canvas 4 with a better processor, storage and some additional features? We are tempted to believe this going by the specifications of both smartphones. Also, several features of Micromax Canvas Turbo are available with competing devices as well.

Micromax Canvas Turbo, which is available for a price of Rs 19,990, started making rounds in the Indian phone market. The main advantage with this smartphone is the lack of availability of multi-million dollar promotion support to single devices from Micromax rivals.

Micromax wants to become the number one smartphone vendor in India. Recently, a Micromax official said if Korea can produce a Samsung, why not Micromax can grow further. That’s why Micromax wants to go global with new products and promotions.

Micromax Canvas 4 vs Micromax Canvas TurboBut Micromax, one of the leaders in the Indian smartphone market, almost copies Canvas 4 when it introduced Canvas Turbo. The difference in specifications between the two devices is marginal, GizmoLead.com finds.

GizmoLead.com is taking a look at the key specifications, which are the backbone for the performance of any smartphone and that influence the buying decisions, of both Micromax Canvas Turbo and Canvas 4. Micromax Canvas 4 was launched in June 2013 at a press meet in Delhi. We are yet to ascertain whether Canvas 4 had a successful launch in India, the second largest telecom market in the world.

Both Micromax Canvas Turbo and Canvas 4 are dual SIM smartphones. Micromax Canvas Turbo has a aluminium case. Both phones support 2G and 3G networks.

Dimensions of these two 5-inch phones are different. Canvas Turbo has a dimension of 71×128.3×8.6 mm, while Canvas 4 has a dimension of 73.8 x 144.5x 8.9 mm. B

Both phones come with a display of IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors. Micromax Canvas Turbo sports 1080 x 1920 pixels, 5.0 inches (~441 ppi pixel density). One the other hand, Micromax Canvas 4 has 720 x 1280 pixels, 5.0 inches (~294 ppi pixel density).

Micromax Canvas Turbo has an internal memory of 16 GB (12.5 user available), 2 GB RAM, while Canvas 4 has an internal memory of 16 GB (10 GB user available), 1 GB RAM.

There’s no card slot for Micromax Canvas Turbo. Canvas 4 has microSD expandable up to 32 GB.

The latest smartphone supports microUSB v2.0, while Canvas 4 supports microUSB v3.0.

Both phones have 13 MP primary camera and 5MP secondary camera.

Both phones have FM capability.

According to information available on Micromax official website, Android OS, v4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) are supporting both these phones.

MTK MT6589T is powering Micromax Canvas Turbo, while MTK MT6589 comes with Canvas 4 that is priced at around Rs 17,500 at some of the ecommerce portals.

There is a difference in processors. Quad-core 1.5 GHz processor is part of the latest smartphone, which will be available during the festival season in India. Canvas 4 has a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor.

Both phones have Li-Ion 2000 mAh battery. But Canvas Turbo offers standby of up to 105 hours against 220 hours in the case of Canvas 4.

Canvas Turbo is promising 7 hours of talk time, while Canvas 4 offers 8 hours of talk time.

Canvas Turbo, according to Micromax, has good features that are already available with its rival phone makers. Some of these features are already available with Canvas 4.
