One more mini smartphone has landed in India. After HTC One mini and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, Micromax is testing waters. Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini is the latest smartphone, which is available on select e-commerce sites for Rs 14,490.
There are not significant differences between Micromax Canvas Turbo, which was launched with much fanfare, and the smaller version.
GizmoLead.com earlier reported that Micromax Canvas Turbo is the remake of Canvas 4 with a better processor, storage and some additional features. Micromax Canvas Turbo was available for a price of Rs 19,990 during the launch time.
However, phone will users will benefit. This means, smaller version, which does not have any amazing features, comes with a cheaper price tag. Price usually attracts phone aspirants. But Rs 14,490 may not be the right price. Users can wait for a couple of weeks or months and grab at a better price.
These mini versions indicate smartphone vendors’ inability to bring innovation to the device market.
As usual, Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini features a 4.7-inch 720p IPS display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor on MediaTek MT6582 chip, and 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera with support for 720p recording, 5MP front camera, 4GB internal storage that’s expandable up to 32GB via microSD card and an 1800mAh battery.
The dual-SIM handset (1 mini-SIM and 1 standard SIM) supports 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and runs Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
The Canvas Turbo Mini is available in black, white and blue colours, said some media reports.
The mobile phone industry would expect some more downward revision in the price of Micromax Canvas Turbo since the mini version is currently available.
