Lenovo Yoga tablet and its rivals with better battery life

Lenovo Yoga tablet offers battery life of up to 18 hours. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100, Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211, Samsung Galaxy Note 800, Asus Fonepad and Asus PadFone offer better battery support.

Lenovo says the 10 inch and 8 inch models of Lenovo Yoga Tablet run on MT8125 for WiFi models and MT8389 Quad Core processors for 3G models with 16 or 32 GB capacity and feature Android 4.2.

GizmoLead.com selected the following models based on battery life and not specifications and price of the tablets available in India. GizmoLead.com’s Anand B also identified a couple of well known tablets which do not even give 10 hours of battery back up.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100, priced at Rs 15,999, comes with 4000 mAh Lithium – Ion offering talk time of 30 hours (2G), 20 hours (3G) and standby time of 800 hours (2G), 800 hours (3G).

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 P3100 specifications include Android (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS, 3G and Wi-Fi Enabled, 1 GB RAM with 16 GB User Memory and 1 GHz Dual Core Processor.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 tablet, priced at Rs 16,250, is available with 4000 mAh Lithium – Ion to give talk time of 20 hours on 3G. This means battery life is better as compared with Lenovo Yoga tablet which was launched in the U.S. on Tuesday.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 T211 tablet features Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, 3 MP primary camera, 1.3 MP secondary camera, 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor, 7-inch TFT Capacitive Touchscreen, Wi-Fi Enabled and expandable storage capacity of 32 GB.

There are other tablet models that can compete with Yoga tablet.

For instance, Samsung Galaxy Note 800, priced at Rs 35,490, features 7000 mAh Lithium – Ion offering talk time of 71 hours (2G), 38 hrs (3G) and standby time of 2230 hours (2G), 2020 hours (3G).

Samsung Galaxy Note 800 specifications include Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS, 5 MP primary camera, 1.9 MP secondary camera, 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen, 1.4 GHz Quad Core processor, HD recording, Wi-Fi enabled and expandable storage capacity of 32 GB.

However, Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx K3011 tablet, priced at Rs 54,790, does not offer enough battery backup. Its 6800 mAh battery offers internet browsing time of 8 hours (Tablet), 8 hours (Dock).

Lenovo IdeaTab Lynx K3011 tablet features Windows 8 (32-bit) OS, Wi-Fi enabled, expandable storage capacity of 32 GB, 2 MP primary camera, 11.6-inch capacitive touchscreen and 1.80 GHz Intel Clover Trail ATOM TM Z2760 Dual Core processor.

Acer W510, priced at Rs 53,990, features 3540 mAh Lithium – Polymer battery that does not even offer 10 hours of battery backup for Internet browsing.

Acer W510 specifications include Windows 8 (32-bit) operating system, 10.1 inch LED Backlit TFT LCD display, 8 MP primary and 2 MP secondary camera, Wi-Fi enabled and internal storage capacity of 64 GB.

In addition, Nexus 7C Tablet, priced at Rs 16,999, also does not offer enough battery backup. Its 4325 mAh Lithium – Polymer battery offers 300 hrs standby time, 10 hours of Internet Browsing Time and 9 hours of HD video play time.

Asus Fonepad tablet, priced at Rs 14,499, features 4270 mAh Lithium – Polymer offering 32 hours of 3G talk time and 751 hours of 3G standby time.

Asus Fonepad tablet sports 3 MP primary camera, 1.2 MP secondary camera, expandable storage capacity of 32 GB, 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor, HD recording, Wi-Fi enabled and Android v4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS.

Asus PadFone tablet, priced at Rs 44,499, has PadFone Station: 6600 mAh, PadFone: 1520 mAh Lithium offering talk time of 370 hours (2G), 360 hours (3G) and standby time of 15 hours (2G), 8 hours (3G).

Asus PadFone tablet specifications include Android v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS, Wi-Fi enabled, 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 8260A Dual Core processor, full HD recording, 1.3 MP primary camera and 10.1-inch TFT capacitive touchscreen.

The price of the new Yoga tablet is $249 and $299, for the 8-inch and 10-inch, respectively. The above mentioned tablets may not match the price range. But battery life of some of the models are better than Yoga tablet.
