iPhone 6 versus iPhone 6 Plus

Apple has unveiled its most anticipated smartphone of the year at a media event on September 9. The device is launched in two variants, iPhone 6 with 4.7 inch Retina display and iPhone 6 Plus with 5.5 inch Retina display.

The iPhone 6 is available for $869 for 16GB version; $999 for the 64GB version and $1,129 for 128GB model without a contract whereas iPhone 6 Plus, the bigger model, will cost you $999 for 16GB, $1129 for 64GB and $1249 for 128GB version.

Both iPhones vary from each other in size as well as some features. When it comes to dimensions, iPhone 6 is 5.44 inch high, 2.64 inch wide and weighs only 129gms. On the other hand iPhone 6 Plus is 6.22 inch high, 3.06 inch wide and weighs 172gms.

The devices boasts LED-backlit widescreen Multi-Touch display with IPS technology but  iPhone 6 has 1334 x 750 pixel resolution at 326 ppi whereas iPhone 6 Plus has 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution at 401 ppi.

Both iPhones are powered by an A-8 chip 64-bit architecture and M8 motion co-processor.

iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus sport an 8MP camera with iSight technology with an in-built slow motion sensor that records videos  at 240 fps. The front facing camera is 1.2 MP with auto HDR mode.

Both smartphones have a fingerprint identity sensor built into the Home button known as the Touch ID.

Other sensors include Barometer, Three-axis Gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor.

The phones have built in Li-ion chargeable batteries and support USB charging. The iPhone 6 has a standby time of 250 hours and talk time of 14 hours on 3G but the iPhone 6 Plus has a standby time of 384 hours and talk time of 24 hours on 3G.

The iPhone 6 provides up to 10 hours on 3G browse, up to 10 hours on LTE, up to 11 hours on Wi-Fi, whereas the iPhone 6 Plus lets Up to 12 hours on 3G browse, up to 12 hours on LTE, up to 12 hours on Wi-Fi.

iPhone 6 has video playback up to 11 hours and audio playback up to 50 hours but the iPhone 6 Plus provides a videos playback of 14 hours and audio playback up to 80 hours.

The devices run on Apple’s latest operating system iOS 8.  iOS 8 is the biggest iOS release ever. Airdrop, AirPlay, iCloud Drive, Family Sharing, Notification center, QuickType keyboard, CarPlay, iTunes Radio, Siri, Control Center, Multitasking, Spotlight Search.
