The 4G LTE smartphone builds on the success of its predecessor Ascend P6. In addition to the 4G LTE support, Ascend P7 boasts a number of other improvements over the previous version.
While both phones look similar in design, they differ in the material quality as well as the size. The new Ascend P7 has Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and back of the handset, whereas the P6 has a brushed metal back.
While Ascend P7 is a bit fatter than its predecessor, there is no much difference in the weight. The P7 weighs just 124 g whereas P6 is 120 g.
The new Ascend P7 surpasses P6 in terms of processor speed, display and camera properties. P6 had 4.7 inch display and 1.5GHz processor. In terms of memory, P7 outdoes P6 as the later has only 8 GB of internal memory.
With the 13-MP BSI sensor on the rear and 8-MP camera on the front, the Ascend P7 is much better an option for selfie videos and outdoor shooting than the previous version that has an 8-megapixel sensor on the rear camera, and a 5-megapixels front-facing camera.
While the earlier Ascend P6 features Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Emotion UI over the top, the new P7 has a better version — Android – 4.4.
Ascend P7 will be available in China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, Greece, Norway, Hungary, Denmark, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Austria, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the United Arab Emirates from May, with other markets to follow, Huawei said.
