Google launched two communication apps at the I/O conference last year, namely Duo and Allo. Even though Google Allo did not gain the recognition that the search giant thought it would, Duo has finally managed to make it to the top of the list. As per leading reports, Google Duo has become the highest-rated communications app by Google on the official Play Store. It is safe to assume that Duo has managed to surpass WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger.

As of today, Google Duo has roughly 50 million active users. Recently, the company added a new voice-calling feature to its platform. The technology giant is also known to actively update its platform as and when they possibly can. Google has repeatedly expressed their desire to make more additions to its platform. Individuals can already integrate different filters on its platform. Google Allo and Duo is owned by Alphabet, whereas WhatsApp is owned by Facebook.
According to Justin Uberti (Google Duo Engineer), the app has 4.6 stars rating on the Play store. The app is downloaded for more than 100 million times. Google is also providing the feature pre-installed in many devices. It is worth noting that this is the highest rated Google app of all time.
In terms of usage, the Duo is still behind the Skype but slowly the application is catching up. While Facebook and WhatsApp have already started the video calling. Overall, Skype is current the most used professional video calling app but in terms of ratings Duo is clearly the winner. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
