At MWC Shanghai, Indian smartphone maker Intex Technologies has announced its entry into the wearable segment with the launch of smartwatch under the name of ‘IRist.’
The product is exclusive available in ebay. The company has not disclosed its price.
IRist comes with an in-built 3G SIM support that enables the user to make/receive calls through IRist independently without carrying their smartphone. IRist also has an app iConnect that syncs with your smartphone giving info on missed calls, unread messages and call logs of the phone.
The smartwatch also features a voice assistant that sends emails, messages, dial numbers, opens and closes apps et al at the command of your voice. A fully functional keyboard further adds to ease of use.
The wearable device comes with a Bluetooth headset. The Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features enable seamless internet access and file sharing.
With a storage capacity of 4GB ROM and a 512 MB RAM, the device offers good storage. It also has a 32GB extendable memory that is a rarity in smartwatch category, Intex said.
Packed with a 1.2 GHz Dual-Core Processor, the IRist runs on anAndroid OS, Kitkat 4.4.2 and has an in-built PlayStore App.
The smartwatch also has a strong 600mAh battery, again not common in this category which lasts really long, at a standby time of up to 200 hours and a talk time of up to 4 hours.
IRist has 240×240 resolution that reproduces 16million colors. It has 5 MP camera and face detection feature.
Commenting on the launch Keshav Bansal, director, Intex Technologies said, “With the announcement of this new wearable by Intex, we are introducing a different category of products to our audience. We aim at taking home the advanced technology by our brand in order to familiarize the masses with the feature rich products which add convenience to their lives.”
The IRist comes in three stunningly designed color variants of Black, Pink and Orange.
